Chautauqua Lake Rowing High School Club Team registration for the 2026 competitive spring rowing season is open through the club’s website, rowchautauqua.org under the High School tab.

“CLR provides a fun and competitive environment in the sport of rowing for boys and girls typically in grades 8-12,” according to Jim Odrzywolski, Chautauqua Lake Rowing High School Club Team coordinator/coach. “Athletes as young as seventh grade may be eligible to row and are handled on an individual basis. For the steersman (those smaller athletes who steer and encourage rowers in the racing shells), eligibility is from seventh through 12th grades.”

No experience is necessary to be a part of the CLR team. CLR coaches will provide training to learn to row or act as steersman. Rowing is a great cross-training sport and one of the best team-oriented activities.

Students from local schools across Chautauqua and Warren counties are able to register and become part of the club team. Indoor practices begin Monday, March 9 at the Falconer Village Hall, second-floor room. Outdoor practices, dependent upon weather, begin tentatively March 30 at the boathouse, 18 Jones and Gifford, Ave., Jamestown. Practices run Monday through Friday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

For more information on the practice and team schedules, see CLRA’s website at http://www.rowchautauqua.org. Contact information for team coaches is also provided under the high school tab. For those who have additional questions, appointments can be made for parents and athletes to meet a coach at the boathouse.

Starting at $3.50/week.
