Chase Bonta Commits To Stetson University

Jamestown High School senior Chase Bonta, standout running back for the Red & Green football team, has committed to Stetson University. A third-team all-state selection, Bonta will join the Division I FCS Hatters, members of the Pioneer Football League, after finishing his career third on Jamestown’s all-time career rushing list behind Jaylen Butera and Aaron Leeper and as owner of the fourth- and fifth-best single-season rushing marks in school history, among other accolades. Following his senior season, Bonta was named Post-Journal/OBSERVER Player of the Year, a finalist for the Connolly Cup, an award given annually to Western New York’s top player, and was named the Section VI Class AA Offensive Player of the Year. Flanking Bonta are his parents Charley and Amy and in the second row are assistant coaches Richie Joly and Peyton Olson, head coach Tom Langworthy, JHS athletic director Ben Drake, and assistant coach Arrick Davis.
