CHEEKTOWAGA — Addison Cappalino is returning to Syracuse next month.

She certainly knows the way.

The Jamestown senior finished sixth in the Section VI Large School championships on Wednesday at Airport Lanes to earn a berth in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships, which will be held March 13-15 at AMF Strike-N-Spare Lanes.

By tossing a 212-232-192-216-202-192-1,246 yesterday, Cappalino landed herself a trip to central New York for the second straight year.

“She was very consistent, very positive and she kept her head in the game,” Red & Green head coach Peggy Harris said. “She gave an absolutely wonderful performance.”

Averaging 207.6 per game, Cappalino was in a very competitive, very close and very high-scoring field.

The rest of the Division 1 state qualifiers and their scores — in order of finish — were: 1. Julianna Schmitt of Kenmore, 187-192-222-187-278-259-1,325; 2. Kelly Coram of Grand Island, 236-209-205-171-279-225-1,324; 3. Cailyn Willard of Kenmore, 231-245-213-203-195-185-1,272; 4. Danica Horbett of Lancaster, 217-186-204-257-193-202-1,259; and 5. Cali Racsumberger of West Seneca, 225-213-213-205-219-174-1,249.

Frontier won both the Class A and Division 1 team titles, while North Tonawanda claimed the Class B championship.

Also competing for Jamestown was Jamie Beaver, who finished 45th with a linescore of 170-160-154-157-137-156-934.

Starting at $3.50/week.
