The teams entered the fourth quarter tied at 42-all after Gowanda won the first quarter 20-5, but the Eagles won the middle two quarters 37-22.

Sophomore Rian Johnson, playing in just his fourth varsity game, had a career-high 11 points.

Seth Geiger led the Panthers with 17 points, Trelin Warrior scored 12 and Aiden Geiger had 11.

Next up for the Eagles is a semifinal date with No. 2 Global Concepts at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Jamestown Community College. The Gators beat No. 10 Chautauqua Lake 73-44 in another Thursday quarterfinal.

“It’s going to be a huge test. From what I’ve seen, they are athletic, they are fast and they play hard. They pressure the ball,” McCann said of Global Concepts. “We’re going to have to take care of the basketball and make good decisions. We’re going to have to play a really good game.”
