Week 4 of the Northwest Arena /Dot’s Gift Boutique Winter Backyard Curling League started to heat things up as participants inch closer to the playoffs.
BUD LIGHT MONDAY 5:40 LEAGUE
Better Than Last Year took control of first place with their blistering offense. Vince Joy and Bev Caldwell didn’t miss all night in wins versus TRCurlers 66-45 and Gemstones 58-57.
Shoeless Joe’s Pub made a leap in the standings thanks to Joe and Theresa Jackson. This first-class duo rose to the occasion against Jimmy Shimmey’s 40-32 and Gren’s Growlers 37-29.
Curling Cousins might have found themselves at the start of a hot streak. Andy Diehl and Rebecca Williams clutched up to hold off The Rolling Stones 39-35 and Fruit of the Brooms 45-43.
Jim Nelson and Josh Platt assembled the best night of the season for CMC Cleaning. It’s the team’s first perfect outing, and they came from knocking off Kubota Krew 39-35 and Cold as Ice 59-50.
Hunter Whippo and The Rolling Stones made use of a fast start to escape TRCurlers 47-43.
Bob Rich and Curling Hares walloped Cold as Ice 43-19.
Steve Cramer showed up yet again for Fruit of the Brooms in a 50-48 duel with Drunken Sliders.
Autumn Mazzone and Drunken Sliders rebounded by shutting down Gren’s Growlers 35-22.
Jim Hale and Jimmy Shimmey’s went back and forth with Kubota Krew before finishing them off 42-39.
BUD LIGHT MONDAY 6:40 LEAGUE
Terry Stronz and Sue Arnold have Curl Jam ahead of the pack after putting away Tree Huggers 49-31 and Slice Mafia 34-32.
Doug and Susan Justham led Frosty Curlers to victory over Bottomland Bandits 41-21 and War Vets 38-25.
They’ll look to leap ahead of Curl Jam this coming week. Mark Baglia, Sandy Stimson and Stones 2.0 found a nice groove to be a .500 team. The electrifying pair helped seize tough battles with Sip n Sliders 41-34 and NAME 24-21.
Tyler Smith and Bottomland Bandits split the night by taking down Rookies Mafia 36-22.
William Loveless and Slice Mafia edged Pickle Pushers 39-34.
Dan Bowman and Tree Huggers found inner peace in their conquest of Ice Holes 30-22.
Craig Marker and War Vets ambushed Pickle Pushers 32-31 with a last-second push.
Jessie Lees helped manufacture a 37-32 NAME victory over Ice Holes.
BUD LIGHT MONDAY 7:40 LEAGUE
Chillbillies rallied around Jake Stelmack and Grace Lillie for an evening sweep. They had to dig deep to fight off Lakeshore East 32-20 and Home Despots 27-24.
Rock Slides witnessed Bryce Rowe and Jerry Feldt come alive for their first perfect night. The dynamic duo captained the way in barnburners with Las Rocas Grandes 25-20 and Stark Gravel 22-21.
Alex Calabrese and Stark Gravel still own the throne thanks to a 32-18 defeat of Home Despots.
Joey Palermo and Lakeshore East survived a well-fought matchup with Frozen Assets 30-26.
Kelsie Filkins and Frozen Assets took care of Lakeshore Paving 23-19.
Mike Doane and Lakeshore Paving broke free from the clasp of Las Rocas Grandes 28-23.

WEDNESDAY 5:30 LEAGUE
Dewey Thomas and Gary Dove had the Geriatric Curlers offense in their prime as they vanquished Head for the Mountains 54-52 and We Love Beer 50-39.
Legion of Broom looked impressive with Adam Irgang and Todd Frangione calling the shots. They picked up resume boosting wins against J-1 Auto 51-41 and Knuckle Draggers 42-26.
Jeff Housler carted 12 Ounce Curls to the finish line over Ice Holers 45-33 and Had a Few 54-32.
Sarah and Polly Pillittieri were a force to be reckoned with for Slone Melhuish. Winning was the only option when they were matched up with Had a Few 38-31 and Head for the Mountains 51-41.
Mike Stevenson and Matt Beebe made sure We’ve Got the Stones weren’t left for dead. They resurrected their squad after dispatching MARKSMEN 46-41 and GWS 54-37.
Skyler Ford and J-1 Auto had an answer for the opening loss, cruising by Stone Cold Maidens 49-18.
Rob Newell and Knuckle Draggers were no match for MARKSMEN 56-46.
Michelle Richau and Ice Holers got the job done against GWS 27-23.
Justin Kell and We Love Beer slipped away from Stone Cold Maidens 35-33.

WEDNESDAY 6:30 LEAGUE
Nate Dorisi brought Team No Names into the mix for first place, now a part of a four-way tie. He backpacked his squad to upset The Brush Offs 32-22 and survived a scare from Margarita Madness 20-19.
Justin Swanson and 12 oz. Curlers coasted by Curling Me Softly 41-29 and dominated Nuttin Buttons 41-16.
Mike Nygren and Randy Kent engineered monumental wins for The Ice Men: 32-27 over In the House and 37-25 versus Curls Gone Wild.
Jenn Swanson corralled The Brush Offs back to the promised land against Stuart Tool & Die 40-27.
Steve Ryberg and Curls Gone Wild are in that cluster atop the league with a 37-31 defeat of Smokin Rocks.
Jim Panebianco and In the House have a seat at the front-runner table with a 35-26 victory over Got Stones.
Ali Digirolamo and Stuart Tool & Die dismantled the Ice Ice Baby offense 41-9.
Jody Perkins and Margarita Madness acquired a much-needed win against Perfect Stones 35-28.
Adam Paterniti and Got Stones kept Nuttin Buttons away from the bullseye in a 29-20 hard-fought win.
Dave Barter and Smokin Rocks leaped past Ice Ice Baby at the end 32-30.
Steve Anderson, in his debut for Curling Me Softly, delivered the killshot to write off Perfect Stones 40-39.

WEDNESDAY 7:30 LEAGUE
Stones & Cones are the only undefeated team across backyard curling in all divisions. Jenn Scolton and Tim Sturges kept them perfect by routing Sheet Faced 48-26 and finishing off HCH Interiors 47-33.
Brandon Rowley took charge of the Flintstones operation for a sweep of Hit n Miss 37-16 and Rock Blockers 30-22.
Darren and Ben Anderson combined skillsets once again as Barney’s Hoof Trimming shut the door on QUEST 49-36 and Haggy’s 4 Below 46-34.
Jill Odell and Tammy Rea received a nod from Six Stones & a Stick. The wonder women orchestrated the take downs of Copy Cats 25-16 and On the Rocks 32-15.
Danielle Cederquist was in the pilot seat the whole way against Sub Zero 34-20.
Gordon Hallquist and QUEST obliterated Hillbilly Sliders 41-17.
Tina Felton and Hillbilly Sliders countered the loss by stifling On the Rocks 40-26.
Joe Rollman and Sheet Faced stormed back to shock Hit n Miss 38-34.
Tina Currie and Sub Zero disarmed HCH Interiors 22-16.
Grant Olson and Copy Cats clocked out with a 29-24 victory over Rock Blockers.

FRIDAY 4:30 LEAGUE
Tracy’s Dog stayed atop of the Friday “Happy Hour” division and remained undefeated, as they took care of Ba Na Ma Na 46-30 and the Curlews 47-37. Katie Lucas carried her team all afternoon long.
2 Curls and a Cup remained one game behind the Dogs in the standings with two wins of their own, as Lauren Lapinski guided her team over the Bemus Sliders 44-37 and Snow Good at This 28-21.
The Curlews narrowly topped the Bemus Boulders 37-35, as Karin Bloomquist showed off her fancy stickwork.
Lions and Bears found the win column, as they bested Frost Bitten Twice Shy 41-32, as Dawn Columbare and Barb Lyons led the way.
Bemus Boulders stayed in third place in the division as they secured a win versus Sweeping Beauties 33-22, as Judi Swanson and Holly Sullivan piled up the points for the Boulders.
Steve Tanner helped lead Cold Beer Here to a 28-18 victory over Lions & Bears.
Snow Good at This opened up their night with a 43-27 win over Sweeping Beauties, as Anna Dibble and Leigh-Anne Hendrick were on the positive end of the scoresheet throughout the game.
The “veteran” Bobby “Gus” Gustafson was on fire, as he led the Bemus Sliders to their win over Curl Jam 37-26.
Bud Welker was Ba Na Ma Na’s first star, as he peppered the house all game long in their 41-32 win over Frost Bitten Twice Shy.
