Hillbillies Take Down Nonleague Salamanca

FREDONIA — The Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek boys wrestling team secured five pins in a 48-33 nonleague boys wrestling victory over Salamanca on Wednesday.
The Hillbillies (3-3) scored all of their points from forfeits or pins which were won by Jomar Quiles (110 pounds), Rocco Muscarella (126 pounds), Mayson Simmons (132 pounds), Julian Ocasio (138 pounds) and Anthony Richmond (144 pounds).
Salamanca (2-3) had pins from Kyle Oakes (103 pounds), Thomas George (165 pounds), Jack Merrill (190 pounds) and Kasen Hardy (285 pounds).
The Warriors also picked up a 16-0 technical fall from Merle Watt at 215 pounds and Conner Seeley earned an 11-1 major decision at 175 pounds.

The Golden Cougars (3-0, 3-0) picked up pins by Brayden Beichner (103 pounds), Mason Corrigan (110 pounds), Dylan Newman (138 pounds), Brayden McCarthy (144 pounds), Nicolas Russell (150 pounds), Noah Booth (157 pounds) and Noah Brandt (175 pounds). Falconer/Cassadaga Valley also had a major decision by Riley Best 19-7 at 165 pounds and Tyler Anderson 18-5 at 215 pounds.

Picking up pins for the Eagles (4-0, 3-0) were Zander Lombardo (118 pounds), Thandon Bensink (132 pounds), Jordin Eddy (150 pounds), Mason Munoz (157 pounds) and Walter Lukasiak (285 pounds). Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama/Clymer added a 15-0 technical fall by Chester Machemer at 103 pounds and another from Alex Bourgeois at 144 pounds, 18-0.
Southwestern (1-4, 1-2) secured a pair of decisions by Miles Torres at 126 pounds 11-7 and Carmine Calimeri at 138 pounds 7-1, while Tavio Hoose returned with a forfeit at 215 pounds and Adrian Torres had a forfeit at 110 pounds.
