Gowanda Hits 16 3s In 15-Point Win Over Silver Creek

SILVER CREEK — Seth Geiger and Trelin Warrior each made five of Gowanda’s 16 3-pointers as the Panthers beat Silver Creek 79-64 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 boys basketball Wednesday.

The Black Knights () actually led 17-14 following the first quarter before the Panthers outscored the hosts 32-11 in the second quarter, thanks in part to six 3-pointers.

Warrior finished with 23 points and Seth Geiger added 21 while Cashis Montour had 12, Lukas Barrett had 11 and Aiden Geiger had 10.

Alan Hoelzle led Silver Creek with 24 points, Jay Buffalo-Cortes had 13 and Gavin DeLong had 10.

WILDCATS PULL AWAY LATE

SHERMAN — Jacob Ferranto had 20 points, 16 rebounds and two assists to power Sherman past Chautauqua Lake 63-48 in Division 2.

The Wildcats (10-1, 5-1) led 35-26 at halftime and put the game away with a 19-11 fourth quarter.

Cal Cook chipped in 15 points while Gabe Kopta had five rebounds and four assists for the winners.

Trent Houser led the Eagles (5-9, 3-5) with 16 points and Carson Fairbank had 11.

Kevin McElwain and Syrai Johnson added 14 points apiece for the Cardinals (9-2), who led 29-22 at halftime.
