Farmer, Gonzalez Power Jamestown To Win

CLARENCE — The one-two punch of Elijah Farmer and Dominic Gonzalez was too much for Clarence on Wednesday night.

The Jamestown seniors combined to score 30 of the Red & Green’s 37 points in the second half to help post a 66-51 Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 victory over the Red Devils.

The win raised Jamestown’s record to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the league, while Clarence fell to 4-7 and 2-2.

Farmer finished with 22 points, including 11 in the third quarter,10 rebounds and three steals while shooting 9 of 14 from the floor. Gonzalez, meanwhile, scored 21 points, including 12 in the final period, to go along with five rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block. Junior Karson Milne had a fine evening as well, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 boards.

The Red & Green shot particularly well, connecting on 27 of 50 shots. They also held a 33-23 rebounding advantage.

For Clarence, Brody Kaufman led the way with 17 points and Jace Brinkerhoff added 13.

Jamestown will be back in action Friday at Frontier.

WASSINK, WHITE LEAD CLYMER

CLYMER — Roman Wassink had 16 points and eight rebounds while Carson White added 16 points and seven steals to lead Clymer past Pine Valley 58-30 in nonleague play.

Blake Beckerink had 9 points, three assists and three rebounds for the Pirates (9-4), who led 42-15 at halftime.

Trent Sunick and Andres Morillas led the Panthers (1-10) with 8 points apiece.

ELLICOTTVILLE — A 16-6 second quarter jump-started Ellicottville to a 56-48 nonleague win over Gowanda.

Blake Smith and Rylan Benjamin led the Eagles (7-4) with 15 points apiece while AJ Myers added 12. Dominic Polino grabbed 11 rebounds and Parker John had nine in the win.

Trelin Warrior led all scorers with 27 points, including five 3-pointers, for the Panthers (4-6). Lukas Barrett added 10 points.
