MAYVILLE — Joey Abuhmeidan scored 19 points and hit three of Chautauqua Lake’s nine 3-pointers in a 73-46 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 boys basketball win over Brocton on Monday.
The Eagles (3-5, 1-3) outscored the Bulldogs 13-9 in the first quarter before a 20-8 second quarter gave them a 16-point halftime advantage.
Trent Houser had 12 points and three blocked shots; Asher Olson had 10 points and nine rebounds; Carson Fairbank grabbed 10 rebounds and five steals; and Nick Jacobson handed out seven assists in the win.
Evan Ludwig led Brocton (0-7, 0-2) with 21 points.

COLLVER HAS BIG NIGHT
SILVER CREEK — Trent Lewis made a go-ahead layup with under a minute remaining as Frewsburg rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Silver Creek 48-44 in Division 3.
Jaden Collver led the Bears (2-4, 1-0) with 22 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots to go along with three steals.
The Black Knights (1-7, 0-1) led 40-34 entering the final eight minutes before getting outscored 14-4. Drake Beckstrom tied the game at 40-all with a pair of free throws before Lewis’s go-ahead layup. Then, Aiden Cusimano and Collver hit free throws to put the game away in the final minute.
“Our defense really stepped up and came to play,” Frewsburg head coach Kyle Nelson said. “We shut them down in the fourth quarter.”
Isaac Hultberg had 10 assists, five rebounds and three steals while Trent Lewis had seven rebounds, three steals and three assists for the Bears.
Gavin DeLong and Andrew Arnold had 14 points apiece for Silver Creek.

GOLDEN FALCONS EDGE OLEAN
FALCONER — Max Parmentier scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists and blocked four shots to lead Falconer to a 35-30 victory over Olean in a Division 1 game.
“It was a defensive standoff,” Golden Falcons coach Cordell O’Brien said. “The defenses were just incredible both ways. We just knocked down a couple more shots and executed down the stretch a little bit better.”
Falconer (7-3, 2-1) led by just two points inside the final minute, but made a free throw and a layup in the closing seconds to hold on for the win.
D’Mitri Carlson added 9 points; Donovan Delaney chipped in 6 points, eight rebounds, four assists and one steal; and Chase Bianco collected three boards and three steals.
Mykel Rivera led the Huskies (6-3, 2-2) with 15 points.

McELWAIN SCORES CAREER HIGH
RANDOLPH — Kevin McElwain scored a career-high 33 points to lift Randolph past Gowanda 61-56 in Division 3 play.
The Panthers (3-3, 0-1) led 42-28 at halftime, thanks to 10 3-pointers, including six from Trelin Warrior.
But Gowanda hit its final 3-pointer to open the third quarter and go up 17 before scoring just 11 points the rest of the way.
Warrior paced the Panthers with 20 points and Seth Geiger added 14.
McElwain scored 19 of his 33 points in the second half as the Cardinals (3-1, 1-0) outscored Gowanda 33-14.
Hunter Foster chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds while Isaac Pihlblad had five assists and four steals in the win.
