Frewsburg Recognizes 2025 State Championship Team

FREWSBURG — On the night they raised a banner recognizing their 2025 New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C championship, the Frewsburg Bears were dominant once again.
Jadyn Trocki scored 28 points to go along with seven assists, six rebounds and five steals as Frewsburg beat Southwestern 76-35 in the second game of the Frewsburg Holiday Tournament on Friday.
The victory sets up an 8 p.m. championship game today against Amherst, which beat Sherman 56-34 in the opening game.
The Bears led 35-17 at halftime and put the game away with a 24-9 third quarter.
Elysse Gruber had 17 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals; Abery Harvey had 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots and three steals; Presleigh Stelmack had six steals and six rebounds; and Jaden Jimerson had six rebounds, four assists and three steals for Frewsburg.

Charlotte Beaver led Southwestern with 13 points, Gianna Sirianni had seven rebounds, and Marlana Cresanti had six rebounds to go along with six steals.
Amherst junior Taryn Ashley scored 12 of her game-high 26 points during a 21-8 first quarter as the Class AA Tigers beat Sherman 56-34 in the first game.
Amherst, which beat the Wildcats 50-44 at Jamestown High School’s Roger Weiss Showcase on Dec. 6, led 30-19 at halftime Friday.
Ada Radomski added 16 points for the Tigers.
Baya Oehlbeck led Sherman with 20 points and six rebounds; Carlie Gable had 6 points and five assists; and Madison Emory had three assists. The Wildcats were playing without sophomore Emmersen Crawford, their leading scorer.
Sherman will take on Southwestern in the 2 p.m. consolation game today.
