Reynolds, Dahlberg Have Big First Quarter For Maple Grove Boys

ELLERY — Jack Reynolds and Aiden Dahlberg combined for 18 of Maple Grove’s 30 first-quarter points as the Red Dragons beat Pine Valley 67-26 in the first round of the Maple Grove Tip-Off Tournament on Friday.

Reynolds had 11 points, including three 3-pointers, while Dahlberg added 7 points, including another 3-pointer, in Maple Grove’s opening eight minutes.

Reynolds finished with a team-high 18 points, Liam Price added 15, Liam Colburn had 14 and Dahlberg had 13 for the Red Dragons, who will take on Salamanca in the championship game at 1:30 p.m. today.

Aiden Bell led the Panthers with 9 points. They will take on Randolph in today’s consolation game at noon.

SALAMANCA REACHES FINAL

ELLERY — Salamanca outscored Randolph 12-3 in the second quarter and beat the Cardinals 59-47 in the first game of the Maple Grove Tip-Off Tournament.

Carlton Farmer led the Warriors with 22 points, including 10 in the first quarter, while Dominick Hill added 15 points.

Syrai Johnson led Randolph with 23 points, including five of the Cardinals’ 11 3-pointers.

BEAVERS TOP CLYMER

CORRY, Pa. — Nick Scouten made three of his five 3-pointers during a 11-point second quarter to help Corry (Pa.) pull away from Clymer in a 70-34 victory.

Parker Trask added 16 points, Keaton Frisina had 11 and Kamdyn Moon had 10 for the Beavers, who led 37-20 at halftime before a 26-9 third quarter.

Carson White led the Pirates with 12 points to go along with four rebounds while Roman Wassink and Blake Beckerink each scored 8 points.
