Forestville Breezes By Maple Grove

FORESTVILLE — Junior Will Duliba scored a career-high 33 points, including 27 in the first half, as Forestville beat Maple Grove 74-40 in nonleague boys basketball Thursday.

Duliba, who made all four of his 3-pointers during the first half as the Hornets (3-0) built a 54-11 lead, also grabbed six rebounds in the game.

“Will is a hard worker and it shows,” Forestville head coach Ralph Jackson said of Duliba, who scored 22 points in a game three times last year. “We see it in practice. It was just a matter of time before it was going to happen in a game.”

Blake Waterman had 12 points and 15 rebounds; Dom Anders had 12 points and 10 rebounds; and Manny Sanchez had 7 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four steals for Forestville.

Jack Reynolds led the Red Dragons (2-4) with 17 points, including five 3-pointers, while Liam Colburn scored 12 points.

BEADLE HAS CAREER NIGHT

WESTFIELD — Senior Grant Beadle had a career-high 32 points and 17 rebounds to go along with five blocked shots as Westfield beat Chautauqua Lake 62-59 in double overtime of their Division 2 game.

The Wolverines (3-1, 2-0) led 27-23 at halftime and 38-37 entering the fourth quarter, but the Eagles’ Trent Houser tied the game with a pair of free throws with 17 seconds remaining.

In the first overtime, a Nolan Anderson free throw gave Westfield a 51-48 lead with 11 seconds left, but the Eagles (1-4, 0-3) tied the game on Joey Abuhmeidan’s banked 3-pointer with 1 second remaining.

The Wolverines were too much in the second overtime, outscoring Chautauqua Lake 11-8.

Braylon Swanson had 11 points, six assists and five steals for Westfield.

For the Eagles, Housser led the way with 16 points to go along with eight rebounds; Abuhmeidan had 15 points and three steals; Asher Olson had 12 points and 17 rebounds; and Carson Fairbank grabbed 13 rebounds to go along with six assists.

GOWANDA — Seth Geiger scored 8 points and Trelin Warrior added 7 during a 17-13 third quarter as Gowanda pulled away from Cattaraugus-Little Valley for a 58-49 nonleague win.

Geiger finished with 17 points and Warrior had 16 for the Panthers ().

HUSKIES COME BACK VS. DUNKIRK

OLEAN — K’Vion Tell scored 9 of his 19 points during an 18-10 first quarter, but Dunkirk could not hold on to the lead in a 42-39 Division 1 loss to Olean.

The Huskies (3-2, 2-1) outscored the Marauders (3-1, 1-1) 23-17 in the middle two quarters before a 9-4 fourth quarter sealed the deal.

Connor Hogle led Olean with 17 points and Taylor Teachman added 11.

FREDONIA — Donovan Dowdy and RJ Koopman had 20 points apiece as Fredonia beat Allegany-Limestone 76-43 in Division 1 action.

Graham Putney chipped in 12 points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds while Dowdy and Koopman had four rebounds apiece for the Hillbillies (5-0, 2-0).

Fredonia led 35-19 at halftime.

Nolan O’Brien led the Gators (2-4, 0-3) with 17 points and Ryan Callen had 14.

CLYMER HAS HUGE 4TH QUARTER

CLYMER — Carson White scored 9 points and Roman Wassink had the other 8 in Clymer’s 17-3 fourth quarter as the Pirates rallied for a 44-34 Division 2 victory over Panama.

The Panthers (3-2, 0-1) led 22-15 at halftime and their lead grew to as many as 10 early in the third quarter.

“In the middle of the third quarter, we stepped up the intensity on defense,” Clymer head coach Irv King said. “We clawed our way back into it.”

White hit a 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter to tie the game and then hit another to give the Pirates (4-1, 3-0) a 35-32 lead they would never relinquish.

White finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and four steals while Wassink had 15 points and 16 rebounds.

“He had a big night,” King said of Wassink.

Michael Horton led Panama with 19 points to go along with five rebounds.
