Jamestown Edges R-H In Overtime For 1st Win
ROCHESTER — Elijah Farmer turned in quite a performance Saturday at Rush-Henrietta High School.
The senior forward scored 21 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out three assists, blocked two shots and added a pair of steals to lead Jamestown to a 65-63 overtime victory.
Dominic Gonzalez and Gavin Johnson added 18 points apiece, with Johnson erupting for 12 points in the fourth quarter to help send the game into the extra session.
The Red & Green (1-2) trailed 32-28 at halftime and 47-41 after three periods, but tied it up after regulation and hung for the win.
Jamestown entertains Frontier on Tuesday.
In the junior varsity game, Jamestown fell 64-60.
Ernie Alvira led the Red & Green (0-2) with 22 points.
FREDONIA DOWNS SC
FREDONIA — Fredonia head coach Nick Bertrando got the better of one of his former players, as the Fredonia Hillbillies defeated Fredonia alum Nate Shuart’s Silver Creek Black Knights, 89-53, at Fredonia High School.
Fredonia (6-0) outscored Silver Creek (1-4) in every quarter. The Hillbillies led 19-13 after the first quarter, then 43-30 at halftime. The Hillbillies doubled the Black Knights in the second half, 46-23, to finish off the 36-point victory.
Fredonia’s seniors led the way. Donovan Dowdy had 32 points and seven rebounds to carry the offense. Colin Luce added 23 points and five rebounds. Point guard R.J. Koopman recorded a triple-double, with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Fredonia plays at Clarence on Tuesday. Silver Creek travels to Sherman next Saturday.
TELL POURS IN 35
FORESTVILLE — K’Vion Tell poured in 35 points to lead Dunkirk to a 76-64 victory over Forestville in a nonleague game.
Avery Krystofiak chipped in 18 points and Malik McCall added 10 for the winners (4-1).
For the Hornets (3-1), William Duliba scored 26 points, Patrick Reilly had 16 and Jack Spengler chipped in 13.
