Falconer Boys Hold Off Southwestern For 48-45 Division 1 Win On Thursday
Behind the efforts of Max Parmentier, D’Mitri Carlson and Donovan Delaney, Southwestern held off Falconer 48-45 in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 basketball game Thursday night at Southwestern High School.
“It’s a tough environment to play in,” Golden Falcons head coach Cordell O’Brien said. “They have a lot of talent at Southwestern. I was proud of our attitude and effort. We were poised and stuck to the game plan and we executed it.”
Falconer (4-3, 1-1) led 17-14 at halftime and 31-27 after three quarters. In the final period, the Trojans (2-3, 1-1 ) had a chance to tie the game, but a 3-pointer didn’t fall in the closing moments.
Max Parmentier paced the Golden Falcons with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists; Carlson added 15 points; and Delaney chipped in 11. In addition, Marcus Parmentier and Chase Bianco grabbed seven and four rebounds respectively.
For Southwestern, Landon Hooks and Roger Markham both had 12 points. Markham also collected three rebounds and three assists; and Colton Waite added nine boards and a pair of assists.
