ORCHARD PARK — Highmark Stadium welcomed Section VI for the final time Friday night.
Top-seeded Bennett felt right at home in the nightcap.
More to the point, Jack Eskridge IV was downright comfortable.
The 5-foot-6, 150-pound wide receiver returned a punt for a touchdown, caught a pair of scoring strikes from quarterback Carl Barnes and capped the evening with a 90-yard highlight-reel trip to the end zone to send the Tigers to a 32-14 victory over No. 3 Jamestown in the Class AA championship game.
The win advances Bennett (9-1) into the Far West Regional at 6 p.m. a week from today vs. the Section V champ at All-High Stadium.

And guess what?
All-High Stadium is located in Buffalo — behind Bennett High School.
Imagine how the Tigers will feel about a home regional, especially with the way their defense played last night.
“They are explosive,” Jamestown head coach Tom Langworthy said about Bennett, “We missed a few tackles because of their athleticism and they were able to get to the perimeter. They made more explosive plays and that’s kind of their game.”
Other than a pair of Chase Bonta rushing touchdowns, Bennett’s defense kept the Red & Green (7-4) in check to complete a season sweep of the division rivals. But unlike the Tigers’ 14-7 win at Strider Field in early October, this one wasn’t really in doubt after halftime.

Bennett, which featured big-play capability on offense and a stout front seven on defense, wasted little time getting on the scoreboard.
Eskridge saw to that.
After Jamestown’s opening drive was a three-and-out, Eskridge took the ensuing punt and returned it 68 yards for a touchdown. Although the 2-point conversion failed, Bennett led 6-0 two minutes into the first quarter.
By the end of the period, the Tigers struck again as a wide-open Eskridge hauled in a 53-yard touchdown pass from Barnes and Dontre Hampton tacked on the 2-point conversion run to push their lead to 14-0.
The Red & Green made it a one-score game when Bonta capped an eight-play, 50-yard drive with a 7-yard TD run. Evan Maloney booted the extra point to cut the deficit to 14-7 with 8:49 remaining in the half.
From there, though, it was all Tigers.
After the break, they outscored Jamestown 18-7, courtesy of Jimmy Valentine’s 2-yard run, Barnes’ 22-yard TD pass to Eskridge and then Eskridge’s dazzling 90-yard burst to the end zone.
Despite the loss, Langworthy said he was proud of his team.
“I love them and I’m thankful for them,” he said. “They gave it their best. We competed, but it didn’t work out the way we wanted on the scoreboard.”
NOTES: Bonta was the workhorse yet again, rushing unofficially for 137 yards on 33 carries and two TDs on runs from 7 and 3 yards. … For Bennett, Valentine ran for 125 yards on 20 carries; Hampton added 95 yards on nine trips; and Eskridge had two carries for 95 yards and a score. … Barnes completed 5 of 15 passes for 117 yards and a pair of TDs. He was intercepted once by Angel Martinez. … The Tigers also intercepted a pair of passes and limited the Red & Green to just one pass completion. … In the Section VI Class B championship game last night, Lackawanna breezed to a 44-22 victory over West Seneca East.
