Bowles Named CCAA D2 Girls Soccer Player Of The Year

The Randolph girls soccer team dominated Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 action this season, outsourcing opponents 68-5 and going undefeated in league play.
At the forefront of that success was senior Gianna Bowles, who put together one of the best seasons in Section VI.
Bowles scored 37 goals and added 12 assists in 17 games of action, which was second in points with 86 and fourth in goals behind Starpoint’s Grace Crissman at 43 as well as Wilson’s Addison Elia and Maryvale’s Aviana Petrizzo, who each had 37.
Leading the Cardinals to a league title with a perfect 10-0-0 record, Bowles was named the Division 2 Player of the Year.
Randolph added another two girls to the First Team with junior defender Grace Arnold-Hill and sophomore defender Kyler Patterson. Arnold-Hill added a goal and an assist, while Patterson scored twice with three assists on top of defensive efforts that included outscoring opponents 68-5 with seven clean sheets.
Representing Randolph on the Second Team were Ella Monroe, Ava Sears and Serena Smith, while Hannah Hill, Jade McMaster and Jade Miller were honorable mentions. Harper Russell was the Individual Sportsmanship selection for Randolph.
Ellicottville finished second in the league and earned three First-Team picks in senior defender Teaghan Finn and forwards Eliza Murray, a junior, and Juleana Lyon, a sophomore.
Finn scored one goal with two assists while helping the Eagles post a 26-11 goal differential with four clean sheets.
Lyon was the team’s top scorer with eight goals and three assists, while Murray provided seven goals and three helpers.
Representing Ellicottville on the Second Team were Ella Weber, Ainsley Edwards and Delaney Myers, while Bianca Bush and Harper Klein earned honorable mentions. Makayla Potter was the Individual Sportsmanship selection.
Salamanca top scorer Ireland Fidurko was named to the First Team after scoring nine goals with four assists, while fellow freshman Delaney Haley joined her after leading the defense to a 39-19 goal differential with four clean sheets. Arleigh Chudy and Avianna Stahlman were named to the Second Team for the Warriors while Kendra Bova-Redeye and Ellouise Brown were honorable mentions. Maya Galante earned their Individual Sportsmanship selection.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley senior Talon Bramer claimed the final First-Team spot after scoring 19 goals with three assists. The Timberwolves also had Rebekah Butcher named to the Second Team and Emma West earned an honorable mention, while Danikah Irish earned the Individual Sportsmanship selection.
The Second Team was rounded out by Franklinville’s Mya Sullivan and Pine Valley/Gowanda’s Katie King. The final two honorable mentions were Franklinville’s Molly Witter and Pine Valley/Gowanda’s Mackenzie Breedlove.
Franklinville’s Kierra Knobloch and Pine Valley/Gowanda’s Addison Smith were Individual Sportsmanship recipients, while Pine Valley/Gowanda earned the Team Sportsmanship Award.
