DUNKIRK — A five-goal second half gave Jamestown its biggest win of the season, a 6-1 victory over Dunkirk in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division I boys soccer Tuesday at Karl Hoeppner Field.

Cameron Burgess scored from Aaden Howard for the Red & Green, but the Marauders’ Naisaih Rodriguez answered on a free kick as the teams went into halftime tied 1-1.

In the second half, Burgess gave Jamestown the lead for good off a pass from Robbie Williams. Burgess then completed his hat trick — and matched his season goal total — when he scored from Beckett Lumia to make it 3-1.

Lumia scored from Ali Alkharson, Tavion Goodlow scored from Burgess and Nico Mason tallied from Kaden Wahl to round out the scoring.

Karson Milne earned the win in net for the Red & Green (4-6-1, 2-4-1), who lost to Dunkirk (8-4-1, 4-2-1) 4-3 on Sept. 18 at Strider Field.

“We played with a lot of confidence. We put ourselves in a position where everything is a must-win. Now, it’s about only moving forward,” said Jamestown assistant coach Nick Golando, filling in for head coach Bonnie Schnars. “There’s no reason to look back at the past. When you win a game like this against a good team, that shows.”
