Falconer, Gowanda, Randolph, Sherman Post League Wins

FREDONIA — Mylie Zaranek scored 10 kills and two digs as Falconer defeated Fredonia 25-21, 25-18, 25-16 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 volleyball action Wednesday.

Emily Zaranek added three aces, eight kills and 11 digs for the Golden Falcons (13-2, 9-1). Hannah Melquist provided an ace, six kills, three assists, three blocks and five digs, and Reagan Trask had three aces, 24 assists and five digs.

Fredonia (4-7, 3-5) was led by Londyn Wilmot with seven kills, nine digs and two blocks; Maddie Krakowiak added six kills; Elly Saunders made five kills, nine digs and an ace; and Alyse Bugaj dealt 12 assists and three kills.

PANTHERS SWEEP EAGLES

GOWANDA — Envy Cross had eight kills, five blocks and an ace as Gowanda swept Ellicottville 25-10, 27-25, 28-26 in Division 2.

Corrina John provided another nine kills, two digs, two blocks and an ace for Gowanda (11-2, 9-0). Aubrey Smuda had nine digs and two aces, and Bella Maines dealt out 27 assists with two kills and five digs.

Ellicottville (9-6, 4-6) was led by Riley Whitmer with 13 kills and nine digs; Ande Northrup made 25 assists, five digs and three kills; and Izzy Coburn had seven kills, four digs, an ace and an assist.

CARDINALS EDGE SALAMANCA

RANDOLPH — Addyson Shawley scored 17 kills, three blocks and three aces as Randolph defeated Salamanca 25-19, 25-16, 14-25, 25-17 in Division 2.

Ryanne Bushey had another 10 kills and 10 aces for the Cardinals (2-9, 2-6). Piper Chase dealt out 20 assists and two aces, and Maybelle Kovel added five digs and three aces.

Salamanca fell to 1-9 overall and 1-8 in league.

WILDCATS RALLY PAST PANTHERS

SHERMAN — Emmersen Crawford scored six kills, five aces, two blocks and two digs as Sherman rallied back against Pine Valley 23-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-13, 15-3 in Division 4.

Madison Emory provided 10 aces, a kill and nine digs for Sherman (4-9, 4-4). Caylee Pinzok had six aces, a kill, four digs and four assists, and Jayne Chambers made five kills and two blocks.

Pine Valley fell to 1-12 overall and 1-7 in league.
