Rallies Propel Wolverines, Trojans In Volleyball
CLYMER — The Westfield volleyball team rallied past Clymer in five sets 26-28, 20-25, 25-18, 25-15, 16-14 in nonleague action on Tuesday.
The Wolverines (3-0) were led by Maddie Burgess with 22 assists and two digs, Molly Burgess made four aces and 12 digs, Nahlia Douglas scored two aces, nine kills and three digs, Isabella Sorrento made seven kills and a dig, while Avery Smith added seven kills, a dig and an assist.
Clymer (1-2) was led by Lily Johnson with 13 digs, seven kills, a block and six aces, Elli Bodamer made six kills, five digs and six aces, Harleigh Faulkner scored two aces, three kills, a block and nine digs, Addie Wiggers made 10 assists, a dig and two aces and Maiya Dunnewold had 16 assists and a dig.
The Westfield jayvees also won their match.
TROJANS RALLY PAST PANAMA
WEST ELLICOTT — Madi Burnett provided 16 kills, an ace and a block leading Southwestern back against Panama in five sets of nonleague action 23-25, 17-25, 25-20, 25-16, 15-13.
Juliet Genareo added nine kills, three aces and four digs for the Trojans (3-1), Gianna Sirianni made 10 kills, an ace, two blocks and nine digs, Elise Kartesz had 34 assists and six digs and Claire Kautzman contributed 11 digs.
Panama (1-2) was led by Kiera Loberg with seven kills, 15 assists and 11 digs, Annie Becker made six kills, five aces and 15 digs and Alex Becker added 25 digs.
CHAUTAUQUA LAKE DOWNS FREDONIA
FREDONIA — Kinslee Motter made 12 kills, three assists and a block as Chautauqua Lake swept Fredonia 25-19, 25-17, 25-23 in nonleague play.
Noli Paddock added seven kills and three aces for the Eagles, Brina Jacobson made six kills, four aces and six digs, Karagan Fairbank recorded five aces, four digs and 31 assists and Sydney Williams made four kills and a block.
Fredonia (2-1, 1-0 CCAA 1) was led by Londyn Wilmot with seven kills, six digs and two blocks, Maddie Krakowiak made five kills and four digs, Alyse Bugaj had 14 assists, Kaylen Rollins scored three kills and two aces and Jordan Morris added two kills and four blocks.
BLACK KNIGHTS EDGE HORNETS
FORESTVILLE — Madison Blair scored five kills, two aces, a block and two digs to lead Silver Creek past Forestville in nonleague action 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 27-25.
Liana Parsell added six kills and eight aces for the Black Knights (3-2), Gracelin Stevens made five aces and four blocks and Risa Kuppel had five digs.
Forestville (0-2) was led by Ava Gruber with five kills and a block, Emily Lillie had seven digs and Iris Muck made three kills.
ELLICOTTVILLE SWEEPS
RANDOLPH — Riley Whitmer made 11 kills and four digs to lead Ellicottville past Randolph in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 sweep 25-23, 25-18, 25-11.
Ande Northrup provided 16 assists, nine digs and four kills for the Eagles (3-2, 1-2) Karle Northrup picked up 13 digs, two assists, two kills, two blocks and three aces, Izzy Coburn had four kills and eight digs and Faith Burlingame had another six digs.
Randolph falls to 0-2 overall and in league action.
