Ludwig Sparks CLCS To Soccer Victory

MAYVILLE — Eliana Ludwig scored twice to help the Chautauqua Lake girls soccer team rally past Dunkirk 2-1 in overtime of a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 soccer matchup on Friday.

Ludwig scored the equalizer in the 70th minute and just one minute into the overtime she scored again to win the game for Chautauqua Lake (4-5-0, 4-2-0). Sidney Cannon made seven saves in net for the victory.

Dunkirk falls to 2-8-0 overall and 0-6-0 in league play.

WOLVERINES ROLL

SOUTH DAYTON — Sophia Wolfe scored a goal and dealt three assists as Westfield/Brocton defeated Pine Valley/Gowanda 7-0 in nonleague action.

Kylie Post added a goal and two assists for the Wolverines (5-2-1), while Avery Swank scored twice, Olivia Wolfe and Lillian Raynor had a goal and an assist each and Addison Emery scored once.

Abrianna Newell made just one save for the clean sheet.

Pine Valley/Gowanda falls to 0-8-0 overall.

PORTVILLE SHUTS

DOWN ‘BILLIES

FREDONIA — Grace Gariepy scored twice to send Portville past Fredonia 2-0 in Division 1 action.

Gariepy provided a goal in each half, while the Portville (5-2-1, 4-2-1) defense shut down Fredonia for a big league victory.

Fredonia (6-3-1, 3-3-1) received nine saves from Naomi Muck.

MODIFIED BOYS

RED & GREEN PREVAIL

Nias Perez connected on a penalty kick with 15 seconds remaining to send Jamestown to a 2-1 victory over Southwestern.

The Trojans led 1-0 in the first half, but the Red & Green tied it on John Schnars’ boot from 35 yards.

The win improved Jamestown’s record to 4-1.
