Lakeland CC Shuts Out Jamestown CC In Nonregion Play

The Jamestown Community College men’s soccer team returned to nonleague competition Friday afternoon against NJCAA Division II Lakeland CC and fell 3-0 on the home pitch.

JCC found itself in an early hole as Abram Gutierrez raced behind the Jayhawks’ defense to finish his first of two goals on the day for the 1-0 deficit.

The Jayhawks weren’t without their chances. Later in the half, both Braidan Govan and Alfie Moynihan had chances for the equalizer, but neither could finish the opportunity.

It was the Lakers capitalizing just before the half to put JCC down 2-0 going to the break.

Jamestown CC had more quality chances in the second half off the foot of Cole Johnson and later Jack Morris, but again neither could find the back of the net as the game remained a 2-0 affair.

It was Lakeland CC that broke through again in the 80th minute from Gutierrez for the final of 3-0.

Jamestown CC now sits at 4-2 overall, but a perfect 4-0 in Region 3 action.

JCC stays in nonconference play next as they head to Lorain CC on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Starting at $3.50/week.
