Frewsburg/Southwestern Posts 3-2 Girls Tennis Victory Against Falconer
FALCONER — Falconer tennis coach Jamie Glatz described Tuesday’s Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association tennis match as “great.”
Hard to argue.
Sparked by an epic victory at second doubles, Frewsburg/Southwestern edged the Golden Falcons 3-2 as the duo of Bailey Bishop and Olivia Grey outlasted Zoie Centi and Jenna Bellinger 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 7-6 (12-10).
The Bears’ other two victories came at first and third doubles, as Lily Harvey and Mackenzie Lobb posted a three-set win at first doubles, while Claire Spielman and Marleigh Stappenbeck won in straight sets at third doubles, although they were extended to a first-set tiebreaker.
The Golden Falcons’ wins came at first and second singles as Myla Brainard and Rachael Swanson both prevailed in straight sets.

Jamestown swept doubles and took a pair of singles victories to edge Salamanca 4-1.
Jazmyn Tonkin won first singles for the Red & Green, holding on against Salamanca’s Emma Prey 7-5, 6-2. Lilyana Morales added a win in second singles 6-2, 6-2 and then the pair of Gabrielle Seekins and Kenzie Potter won first doubles to secure the match.
Salamanca picked up a win in third singles as Sage Huff held on 7-5, 0-6, 6-4.
