Cresanti Has Big Day As Trojans Beat Jamestown
Marlana Cresanti had two goals and an assist to lead Southwestern past Jamestown 4-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 girls soccer at Strider Field on Wednesday.
After a scoreless first half, Cresanti scored from Maddie Troutman in the fifth minute of the second half. Cresanti’s second goal came from Avery Johnson in the 11th minute of the second half. Cresanti then assisted on Johnson’s goal in the 58th minute before Lucy Brown scored from Kenzie Rogers in the 69th minute.
Payton Gibbs denied Southwestern its clean sheet when she scored from 25 yards out, assisted by Amy Noll.
Braya Beaver made four saves in net for the Trojans (1-1-0, 1-0-0).
JaLeiya Glover made nine saves in net for the Red & Green (0-2-0, 0-1-0).
BLACK KNIGHTS COAST
SILVER CREEK — Malayah Eldridge, Carilene Sliwa, Eliza Mahaney and Meadow Azzarella each scored twice as Silver Creek/Forestville beat Cattaraugus-Little Valley 10-1 in nonleague action.
The Black Knights led 3-0 at halftime. Azzarella scored from Kyla Ziegler, Abby Cook scored from Sliwa and Azzarella scored unassisted before the break.
After halftime, Sliwa scored unassisted, Sliwa scored from Cook, Mahaney scored from Emily Bain and from Eldridge, and Eldridge scored from Cook and unassisted.
The lone goal for the Timberwolves (0-1-0) came on a Silver Creek/Forestville own goal.
Mahaney and Sliwa split seven saves for the Black Knights (2-0-0).
