RANDOLPH — The Newfane football team has had no problem scoring this season and the Panthers put that on display Friday night at Ray Van Wie Field.

Newfane scored the first 34 points of the game against Randolph and never looked back en route to a 47-19 Class D victory.

Newfane (4-0, 3-0) quarterback Mac Capen continued his stellar season with five rushing touchdowns on 14 carries for 228 yards. Then he completed six passes for 120 yards and another two touchdowns in the victory.

Capen used his arm first, connecting with Isaiah Gerstung for a 39-yard touchdown pass. He then finished the first quarter with a 40-yard passing touchdown to Nacer Spencer, before rushing for the next four Newfane touchdowns.

Randolph scored two touchdowns in the second quarter, but the game was too far out of reach.

The Cardinals got on the board when Alex Garland broke off a big 46-yard touchdown in the middle of the second quarter and then he did it again before the end of half, rushing for a 41-yard touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Randolph (3-1, 2-1) scored the only second half points when Jaxson Morrison connected through the air with Gavin Larson for a 6-yard touchdown pass.

WARRIORS RUMBLE

PAST HERD

SALAMANCA — Taylor Jones rushed in for a 4-yard touchdown that gave Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove an 8-0 lead in the second quarter at Salamanca.

From that point it was all the Warriors as they responded with a Cam Bowser touchdown catch on the next drive and outscored the Herd 20-0 in the second half for a 28-8 Class C South victory at Veterans Memorial Park.

Salamanca (4-0, 3-0) kept the Herd (1-3, 1-2) off the board in the second half and capitalized on two interceptions by Conner Seeley and Payton Bradley, making the turnovers reflect on the scoreboard.

Bradley kept a pair of rushing touchdowns himself, along with passing for a pair going 10 of 14 for 200 yards including a 45-yard touchdown to Waylon Dowdy.
