EDINBORO, Pa. — Dave Young’s 73 was the best gross score among golfers in the Asquith Senior Tour.

Playing at Culbertson Hills Golf Club in the White A Flight, Young’s round was three shots better than Dale Melquist’s 76 in Gold A. Other gross scores were Mike Abbate 86 (White B), Ed Johnson 86 (Gold B), Ron Willey 89 (Gold C) and Bob Kaverman 94 (Gold D).

Using the Modified Stableford scoring system, following are the leaders in each flight: Young 5 and Bryan Rupczyk 5, White A; Mike Abbate 5 and Jim Hale 0, White B; Brian Shannon 4 and Melquist 1, Gold A; Johnson 9 and Joe McCourt 7, Gold B; Larry Eidens 5 and Bob Welch 5, Gold C; and Bill Radack 8 and Kaverman 6, Gold D.

Bob Lindquist (No. 8), Eidens (No. 13) and Brian Eckwahl (No. 16) were closest to the pin.
