After missing much of this past lacrosse season due to injury, Silver Creek Central School alum Zed Williams is on the move again.

However, just not yet on the field, but changing teams.

Beginning his National Lacrosse League career with the Georgia Swarm, Williams was eventually traded to the Colorado Mammoth and helped the team win the championship in 2022 and return again in 2023. Williams was a big part of the team’s success in that time, but now the Irving native will play a little closer to home after being traded yet again on Thursday to the Rochester Knighthawks.

The Knighthawks were recently purchased by the Seneca Nation — which Williams has represented on the national level — and the trade marks the ownership’s first big move. Rochester sent Colorado its first and second-round selection in the 2025 NLL draft, while acquiring Williams and the Mammoth’s second-round pick.

Williams will be returning from an achilles injury sustained in May, but prior to that recorded 55 points with 30 goals and 25 assists last season. At his peak with the Mammoth, Williams scored 71 points in the 2023-24 season and helped the squad return to the championship against the Buffalo Bandits.

Starting at $3.50/week.
