BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Expos squared off against the Larry’s Cantina Pirates of Westfield on Sunday afternoon and the battle for the regular-season championship did not disappoint.

In a back-and-forth affair, the Expos took a comfortable 11-8 lead heading into the final inning.

The Pirates used a little two-out magic to load the bases in the top half of the inning before a bases-clearing double off the bat of Max Schrantz. The Pirates then took a 12-10 lead heading into the final half inning.

Austin Alonge, Alex Nusom and Steven Keyser all had two hits for the Pirates. Alonge also earned the save in the seventh.

Nate Johnson, Ryan Lucas and Walt Rybczynski each had three hits for the Expos. Rybczynski had a three-run home run in the first inning.

A’S 7, BLUE JAYS 1

Travis Butcher hurled the complete-game victory, scattering six hits while striking out 13 to lead the Stuart Took & Die A’s to a 7-1 victory over KD Landscaping Blue Jays.

Randy Stuart and Matt Bull each had two hits while Brandon Shelters had a three-run double; Brian Gunnell added a triple; and Bob Bankoski, Jimmy Quinn and Trevor and Austin Spicer all hit safely for the A’s.
