12U TRAVEL BASEBALL

FREWSBURG — The Diamond Dawgs earned a spot in the Western New York Premier League championship game with a 3-2 win over the Eden Raiders on Sunday.

The Raiders took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning before Collin Bragg tied the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning.

Eden regained the lead in the top of the third inning, but Liam Mulkins answered with a two-run home run in the bottom of the frame to give the Diamond Dawgs the lead for good.

Eden nearly tied things on the final play of the game as a single fell into right field. But Huxley Hale threw home to Curtis Spielman, who gathered the ball and flipped it to Bragg covering the plate to tag out the Eden runner.

Lukas Youngberg and Caden Lacki each had a pair of hits for the Diamond Dawgs.

Mulkins earned the win on the mound, tossing four innings of one-hit ball, allowing two runs (one earned) while striking out five and walking four. Bragg earned the save with three innings of shutout relief, allowing four hits while striking out one.

The Diamond Dawgs will travel to Westwood Park to take on the Lancaster Legends in the title game Friday at 6 p.m.

13U TRAVEL BASEBALL

The Lakewood Gladiators defeated Tonawanda 8-6, and lost close games to Lakeshore 7-5 and State Line 2-1.

In the win over Tonawanda, Ethan Smrekar had three singles and two RBIs, Austin Bushey had two singles, Alexander Olson had a double, Nolan Truver had a single and three RBIs, Owen Walburg had a single and an RBI, Noah Lindell had a single, and Connor Devlieger had an RBI.

In the loss to Lakeshore, Bushey had two singles and two RBIs, Andrew Cama and Gage Olmsted each had two singles, Devlieger had an RBI double, Alexander Olson and Walburg each had a single and an RBI, and Liam Olson and Smrekar each had a single.

In the loss to State Line, Liam Olson and Smrekar each had a single.

15U TRAVEL BASEBALL

The Lakewood Gladiators were triumphant over Aces recently.

A walk by Gavin Darr gave the Gladiators a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth.

In the top of the sixth, Lakewood broke up a 2-2 tie when Ryan Engquist hit an RBI single and Darr followed with an RBI single.

Drake Beckstrom earned the win for Lakewood. The righty allowed one hit and no runs over two innings, striking out two and walking two. Wilson Genareo started for the Gladiators, allowing one hit and a run over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Engquist collected the save. Karson Milne also appeared in relief.

Milne and Julian Jackson each collected two hits for Lakewood.
