GLADIATORS 15U

The Lakewood Gladiators 15U defeated Markham 2010 Elite 8-0 on Sunday to secure a spot in the Pittsburgh Cap Classic semifinals, thanks in part to five runs in the fourth inning.

Lakewood Gladiators 15U jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Jackson Grey tripled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Drake Beckstrom earned the win for Lakewood Gladiators 15U. The righty surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. William Stewart took the loss for Markham 15u 2010 Elite. The pitcher went three innings, surrendering eight runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out none and walking three.

Jackson Grey led Lakewood Gladiators 15U with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-1 on the day. Drake Beckstrom, Gavin Weaver, Wilson Genareo, Broc Bryan, and Grey each collected one hit.

Lakewood Gladiators 15U had trouble keeping up with Hardcore Elite-Ruggieri 15U in a 10-1 loss on Sunday at Gateway High School.

Mason Speigle earned the win for Hardcore Elite – Ruggieri 15U. The starter gave up four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.

Wilson Genareo took the loss for Lakewood Gladiators 15U. The right-hander went four-plus innings, giving up seven runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking four.

Ryan Engquist and Gavin Weaver were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Lakewood Gladiators 15U. Engquist went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one RBI. Lakewood Gladiators 15U turned one double play in the game.

Gavin Darr collected four hits in four at bats, as Lakewood Gladiators 15U defeated Stateline Show 15U 10-4 at Fireman Field Turf.

Darr singled in the fifth inning, singled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Lakewood Gladiators 15U scored seven runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Darr singled, scoring two runs, Karson Milne singled, scoring two runs, Ryan Engquist drew a walk, scoring one run, Gavin Weaver singled, scoring one run, and Chase Wahlers induced Jackson Grey to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Jackson Jones singled to center field, which helped Stateline Show 15U tie the game at one in the top of the second.

Lakewood Gladiators 15U took the lead in the bottom of the third. Darr singled, scoring one run, to give Lakewood Gladiators 15U the lead, 2-1.

Stateline Show 15U scored on a wild pitch, which helped Stateline Show 15U tie the game at two in the top of the fifth.

Grey earned the win for Lakewood Gladiators 15U. The pitcher surrendered two hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking four.

Lakewood Gladiators 15U tallied 12 hits in the game. Julian Jackson and Weaver each collected multiple hits.

GLADIATORS 13U

The 13U Southwestern Gladiators defeated North Tonawanda 18-10, defeated MMB Bandits 6-4, and defeated Central Amherst 21-0.

In the win over MMB Bandits, Nolan Truver had two singles and two RBIs, Owen Walburg had two singles and an RBI, Alexander Olson had two singles, Austin Bushey and Ethan Smrekar each had a single and Liam Olson added an RBI. The Gladiators pitched Andrew Cama, Bushey and Smrekar in the win.

In the win over Central Amherst, Smrekar had a double and two singles and four RBIs, Camma and Bushey each had two singles and two RBIs, Gage Olmsted had a single and two RBIs, Alexander Olson, Brysen Thayer and Walburg each had a single and an RBI, Truver had a single, Connor DeVlieger had two RBIs and Tage Mazzurco added an RBI. Thayer pitched a complete game for the Gladiators.

In the win over North Tonawanda, DeVlieger had a double and a single with three RBIs, Mazzurco had two singles and two RBIs, Smrekar had a double and two RBIs, Thayer had two singles, Bushey had a single and two RBIs, Olmsted had a single and an RBI, Truver and Cama each had a single, and Walburg had two RBIs. Bushey and Smrekar pitched.
