NY/PA Corporate Cup Is July 27 At Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, Pa. — Southwestern’s Grey Kidder helped lead the Trojans to another Section VI championship in his senior season and on July 27 he will represent them one more time putting on the captain armband for Team New York Gold in the NY/PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase at Pitt-Bradford.
Kidder is joined by senior teammate Bergen Nelson and junior Ryan Ohl, while head coach Jason Deering will look to bring the championship back to the Empire State.
Several other local boys will represent their schools one last time including Jamestown’s Lincoln Carpenter, Maple Grove’s Drew Oste, and Ellicottville’s Owen Doherty and Ben Edwards. Joining them are Maple Grove’s junior Ty Kraft and sophomore Ty Oste, Randolph junior Cooper Freeman and Ellicottville sophomore Tosh Klein.
Kidder is joined as captain by Allegany-Limestone senior Luke Griffin, who helped lead the Gators to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C finals, and senior Aiden Cowburn of Section V’s Wellsville.
The New York girls Gold Team will also have a Southwestern head coach in Derek Houser leading the squad, which includes one of his players in sophomore Marlana Cresanti.

A local captain on the squad is Pine Valley senior Sarah Kruszka and she is joined by Portville senior Natalie Reynolds and Cuba-Rushford senior Cloey Larabee.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove is well represented with its top scorers, Falconer sophomore Julianna Roth and Maple Grove sophomore Kylie Kress. Frewsburg sophomore Audrey Eckwahl brings some sectional-champion pedigree, while Randolph junior Gianna Bowles packs an offensive punch and senior Summer Downey will represent Salamanca for the final time.
The New York boys Silver Team will get next Sunday’s action started at noon and is coached by Bolivar-Richburg’s Mike Zilker. The three captains are Ellicottville senior Kyle Robinson, Bolivar-Richburg senior Landon Barkley and Genesee Valley senior Evan Turybury.
There is a healthy representation of Ellicottville Eagles after captain Robinson with senior Maddox Johnson, junior Jackson Kruszynski and sophomore Chris Edwards.
Randolph adds junior Parker Patterson and sophomore Isaac Pihlblad, Jamestown freshman Beckett Lumia carves out a role, junior Caleb Edwards joins from Chautauqua Christian Academy, while senior Mason Brewer represents Salamanca a final time.
The New York girls Silver Team is also coached by Houser and he adds just one more of his players in sophomore Mackenzie Rogers.
The team is captained by Cattaraugus-Little Valley junior Rebekah Butcher, Portville sophomore Ella Zeigler and Wellsville junior Talia O’Connor.
Frewsburg freshman Elysse Gruber will be one of the goalkeepers, while Salamanca sophomore Arleigh Chudy joins the team in the outfield.
The ninth edition of the NY/PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase will take place at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford next Sunday, July 27 and begins at noon with the boys Silver Teams, then the girls Silver Teams play at 2:30 p.m., boys Gold Teams follow at 5 and the girls Gold Teams wrap up the evening at 7:30.
The event is free to attend with seven food trucks, raffles, 50/50s, halftime entertainment and a pregame ceremony 30 minutes prior to each match.
