Rotary Club Holds 30th Annual Charity Tourney

Max Eimiller won the low Rotarian trophy for the second year in a row, carding a net 74 to highlight the 30th annual Rotary Charity Golf Tournament at Moon Brook Country Club.
First-place winners of the Two Best Ball of Four Division with a scorecard playoff of 125 were Tim Shults, Hans Auer, Roy Glosser and Tom Holt. Second-place winners, also carding a 125, were Derek Dawson, Kurt Johnson, Jon Gren and Mike Martinelli. Ken Brown, Kris Olson, Blake Tarana and John Rasmussen were the third-place winners with a 128.
In the Scramble Division, Mike Bird, Todd Conklin, Jeff Keppel and Jerome Lee Yaw claimed first place with a scoreboard playoff of 52. They were followed by the second-place team, also carding a 52, of Shannon Davis, Dave Bleck, Brian Nolan and Mike Allen. One shot back at 53 was the third-place team of Dewey Jones, Steve Wintersteen, Bandon Walker and Mike Lawhead.
Closest to the pin on No. 4 were Rasmussen and Joelle Washer, and closest to the pin on No. 13 were Holt and Janet Bowman.
Dawson had the longest drive for the men on No. 10 and Washer had the longest drive for the women on No. 18; and Todd Allen was the winner of the putting contest.

Ring of Fire, sponsored by Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, winners included: Bill Carlson, Bird, Neil Young, Kurt Eimiller, Randy Chapman, Eric Maloney, Wintersteen, Carl Liuzzo, Mike Allen, Gren and John Rasmussen.
The Rotary Club of Jamestown was instrumental in developing Moon Brook Country Club in 1920, just a short time after Rotary was founded in Jamestown in 1919. Many Rotarians are listed as former presidents of the golf club.
The Rotary Club is deeply involved in the local and international communities, donating time and effort to a variety of community service projects and supporting local and international projects as well as sponsoring exchange students to visit our country and to travel to other countries. And of course, Rotary is constantly fighting the battle to end polio in the world once and for all.
Rotary focuses on projects pertaining to clean water, literacy, eradicating disease, building peace, protecting the environment, healthy mothers and children, and community economic development.
