CHAUTAUQUA — The reigning club champion golfers from The Post-Journal, OBSERVER and Times Observer coverage areas will tee off on Sunday in the 35th Jim Riggs Memorial Champions on the Hill Course at Chautauqua Golf Club.

The field is made up of last season’s men’s scratch club champions and previous winners of the tournament, which traces its origins to the late Jim Riggs. The Post-Journal sports editor from 1979-2014, Riggs hosted the first event in 1990 and it has been held annually ever since.

The field, as of Monday, includes: 2024 club champions Jason Stronz, Moon Brook Country Club; Pat Smith, Breezewood Links; Darien Swanson, Pinehurst Golf Club; Scott Jagoda, Cassadaga CC; Chad Swan, Maplehurst CC; Pete Caprino, South Hills CC; Austin Stoddard, Cable Hollow Golf Course; Casey Vincent, Conewango Valley CC; and Skete Williams, Jackson Valley GC. The past champions in the field are Nick Giambrone, Scott Crist, Josh Harrington, Nolan Ditcher, Jordan Marsh, Nolan Swanson, Greg Winter, PJ Gronquist and Jay Lindell.

The first group will tee off at 10:30 a.m., and every 10 minutes after that.
