ELLICOTTVILLE — Two teams posted rounds of 62 to tie for the lead after the first round of the 54th Italian-American Charity Golf Association Tournament on Thursday at Holiday Valley Resort.

The tandem of George Panebianco and John O’Mara and the duo of Pete Morgante and Jon Gren Jr. both have a two-shot lead over the teams of Michael Schifano and Alex Johnson, and Anthony Gullo and Jake Dwaileebe. Three teams are three shots back. They are Ray Paladino and Robert Saltzman, Zack Panebianco and Matt Hoaglund, and Colin Lodestro and John Geisler.

Twenty-two other pairings broke 70. Four of them shot 66, three recorded 67, eight registered 68 and seven came in at 69.

The second round is today and the final round is Saturday.
