Jamestown had itself quite a weekend.
And Christian Pencek was the headliner.
The right-hander from Lincoln Memorial tossed a seven-inning no-hitter on Sunday to highlight Jamestown’s 4-0 victory over Auburn in the opener of a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League doubleheader before 787 fans at Diethrick Park.
In the nightcap, Nick Ianniello raised his record to 5-0, allowing three hits over six innings as the Tarp Skunks (13-10) completed the sweep of the Doubledays (13-8-2) 4-1.
Pencek (2-1), who struck out four and didn’t issue a walk, allowed only three runners, two via hit by pitch and the other on an error. Other than that, he was perfect.

The Tarp Skunks provided all the runs he would need with one in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the sixth off Doubledays losing pitcher Eric Korzeniewski (1-1).
Nolan Smith collected two hits, Justin Bremner added a double, and Smith, Bremner and Jakob Haynes each drove in a run.
In the second game, Ianniello struck out three and didn’t walk a batter in his 84-pitch outing. Jasean Brown worked the seventh inning for his second save.
Offensively, Jamestown managed only four hits against losing pitcher Matt McGeorge, but it was just enough to win its third straight game.
Haynes belted a home run and had a pair of RBIs; and Nathan Borchardt (RBI), Bremner and Joaquin Rodriguez all smacked doubles for the Tarp Skunks, who scored a run in the second inning, two in the third and one in the sixth.
Auburn’s hits were by Tommy Kirwan, Sam Meyer and Josh Thompson.
The Tarp Skunks have three off days this week — today, Wednesday and Friday. They travel to Niagara on Tuesday, are home against Niagara on Thursday and travel to Niagara again Saturday. Thursday is Firework Night, presented by Jamestown Mattree Company.
