MIDDLETOWN — Southwestern junior Ryan Ohl has had quite the season for the Trojans on the track and it all culminated last Friday at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships at Middletown High School.
Running in the top heat of the Class C 400-meter final, Ohl posted a blazing time of 49.26 which was fourth overall in the division and third place on the NYSPHSAA podium. Ohl placed highest among underclassmen, while Tully senior Ryan Rauber won with a time of 47.44, Poly Prep Country Day School senior Kofi Rossi ran 47.58 and Greenwich senior Joe Radovich hit 48.87.
Ohl was the top runner in the 400 from Section VI, posting a school record in his quest for a sectional title.
As the other runners graduate, Ohl will have another season to improve that time and eye an even higher spot on the podium.
