This week, 11 gymnasts from the Lakewood YMCA Starz Gymnastics team will be traveling to Green Bay, Wisconsin, for the YMCA National Gymnastics Championships.

Gymnasts had to qualify to compete in this three-day competition against other YMCA gymnasts from all over the country.

The event kicks off with Opening Ceremonies on Wednesday where Olympic Gymnast Jordan Chiles will speak.

“This event is one of the reasons YMCA gymnastics is so special,” Coach Emily Storms said. “They really do a great job at making this a great experience for gymnasts and families.”

Level 4 gymnasts Caroline Brown, Charlee Conti and Elizabeth Reeves compete on Thursday, followed by Level 2s Cora Thayer and Kaylee Couse, and Level 7 Molly Colburn on Friday.

The competition finishes with Level 3s Hanna Clark, Emilie Roush and Emme Johnson as well as Level 5s Izzibella Ordines and Allie Arnone.
