Jamestown Community College head women’s basketball coach Dave Turnbull has been named the head coach of the Western New York Buffalo girls Basketball Coaches Association of New York team.

The BCANY hosts its 13th annual Summer Hoops Festival in July. Each section of the state is represented in the tournament, and players will not only take part in games, but they will also learn about the college recruiting process during the weekend.

Turnbull is the reigning BCANY Wome”s Junior College Coach of the Year. His Jayhawks are coming off of a season where they finished 16-7 and Turnbull was named the Region 3 Coach of the Year.

WNY Buffalo Girls BCANY team tryouts were held this week at Maryvale High School in Cheektowaga.
