Hinsdale Is D2 POY, Brocton’s Fetterick Is Top Coach

The Frewsburg baseball team finished undefeated for the second straight year in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 and earned five First Team all-star selections.
Leading the way for the Bears were Chase Haglund, Aiden Gruber, Maddox Sheesley, Mason Eckman and Daniel Peterson. While teammates Blake Weaver was named to the Second Team and the trio of Cole Mazzurco, Gavin Weaver and Drake Beckstrom earned honorable mention.
The Clymer/Sherman/Panama Wolfpack finished second in the league standings and leading the way was senior Bryce Hinsdale who was named the league’s Most Valuable Player. Fellow senior Tate Catanese joined Hinsdale on the First Team, while Andrew Spiesman was named to the Second Team and Isaiah Burkholder was honorable mention.
Westfield finished third in the league and had three First Team selections in Danny Bratton, Tristen Phillips and Mason Baum. The Wolverines also added Second Team selections with Trent Ramm and Joel Stein and both Joey Russo and Ian Kinderman were honorable mentions.
Brocton finished fourth in the league and the trio of Anthony Gatto, Nathan Laurito and Michael Garcia were named to the First Team. Then Raynathan Santiago and Anthony Cruz earned Second Team selections for the Bulldogs as Jeremy Weisner and Chris Furman were honorable mentions.

Brocton head coach Rob Fetterick was also selected at the league’s Coach of the Year.
Chautauqua Lake had a pair of First Team selections in Devin Hewes and Nate Henry, while Clayton Smith and Mike Jauss were Second Team and Clayton Blackmon earned honorable mention.
The lone First Team pick for Maple Grove was Cam Lombardo, while Zach Cornell earned a Second Team spot and both Drew Yost and Jake Reinhart were honorable mention.
Cassadaga Valley earned the Team Sportsmanship Award, along with First Team selection Logan Hayward, Second Team pick Jordan Swanson and honorbale mention Bradley Windnagle.
Pine Valley’s Trent Ivett rounded out the First Team and Camryn Slade earned Second Team, while Hayden Chase was the final honorable mention.
