Behind a trio of double-winners, the Southwestern girls track and field team won the Jamestown Track and Field Classic with a score of 96 on Saturday at the Martin Road Athletic Complex.
Marlana Cresanti doubled the 200 and 400 meters for Southwestern, posting a time of 26.21 and 59.68. Then Emma Lewis dominated at distance claiming the 800 at 2:19.84 and the 1,500 in 4:46.14. M’Kenzie Zavala also won the 400 hurdles for Southwestern after posting a time of 1:09.82.
Then in the field, Mikayla Johnson dominated the throwing events for the Trojans with a win in shot put at 38 feet and 9 inches, followed by a throw of 123 feet and 2 inches in discus for a victory.
Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton’s Jada Cole was nearly a triple winner, but was just edged out in the 100 by Frewsburg’s Grace Lennon with a 12.55 to 12.80. Instead, Cole settled for winning the high jump at 5 feet and 4 inches and then the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet and 3.5 inches.
Jamestown split the top spot in one girls event with Emily Cardinale and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Mary Lundmark both reaching a height of 10 feet in the pole vault.

Clymer/Sherman/Panama took 2 of 3 relay events with the quartet of Finley Mitchell, Matilyn Rhines, Tess Flikkema and Solki Martin-Lacayo winning the 1,600 at 4:20.25 and the team of Deidre Green, Flikkema, Grace Cooke and Martin-Lacayo taking the 3,200 at 10:01.45.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley won the 400 relay at 51.59 with the team of Natalie Dossey, Hannah Madonia, Lundmark and Julianna Roth edging Iroquois which ran 51.67.
The boys competition went better for the hosts as Jamestown finished second to Hamburg’s 73.7 points with 70.5.
Jarren Cotter won both the 100 and 200 at 11.09 and 22.60 to lead the Red & Green. The Jamestown boys also received wins from Beckett and Brighton Lumia in the 400 dash at 51.39 and 400 high hurdles at 58.09, respectively, as the Jamestown boys scored 70.5.
Silver Creek/Forestville’s Nathan Mays won 4 of 5 pentathlon events to cruise to a 3,079 point victory. The junior won the 110 high hurdles at 16.33, high jump at 1.81 meters, long jump with 6.06 meters and the shot put throwing 12.50 meters.

The throwing events were won locally with Southwestern’s Leo Kavic claiming shot put at 49 feet and 9.75 inches, while Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton’s Walter Lukasiak won the discus at 137 feet and 4 inches. Randolph also picked up a win in the field as Caden Inkley won pole vault with a bound of 14 feet and 6 inches.
Southwestern also claimed a win in the 1,600 as Donavin Brown raced to a time of 4:38.85.
The Frewsburg team of Noah Erickson, Henry Eckert, Lucas Randolph and Cole Vaughn won the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:38.66.
