Blake Smith Jr. had the big hit of the fifth inning as he smacked a 3-run double that cut the deficit to a pair of runs. Then in the following inning, Jhensen Cordero drove in Karson Milne with a single, Carter Rizzuto tied the game with an RBI walk and Adam Kubera helped Jamestown (3-10) seize the lead with an RBI single.

Blake Smith Jr. finished the day with 4 RBIs, Rizzuto had two hits and 2 RBIs and Kubera scored three times. Rizzuto started the game’s first four innings with four strikeouts and Kyle Falkowski finished the final three scoreless innings for the Red & Green with five strikeouts giving up just two hits.

Fredonia (6-6) was led by Ashton Putney with hits including a double and Brady Crawford had two hits with a triple.

WOLFPACK ROLLS PINE VALLEY

SOUTH DAYTON — Tate Catanese hit 4 for 4 with a double and 4 RBIs as Clymer/Sherman/Panama rolled past Pine Valley 15-3 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 action.

Bryce Hinsdale went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and four runs scored for Clymer/Sherman/Panama (6-2, 6-1), Gavin Burchanowski hit another 2 RBIs, Max White finished 2 for 4 and B Phelps had an RBI. Burchanowski picked up the win on the mound with nine strikeouts over five innings pitched.

Pine Valley (0-9, 0-8) was led by Trent Ivett with a 2 RBI triple in the bottom of the first inning and Cameron Howard drove him home with the Panthers second and final hit of the game. Howard took the loss on the mound, but recorded six strikeouts over three innings and Ivett came in relief to punch out another 14 batters over the final four innings for a total of 20 strikeouts in the game.

BEARS DROP NONLEAGUE CONTEST

SPRINGVILLE — Grant Michalski went 2 for 4 with a pair of triples and 3 RBIs to lead Springville past Frewsburg 8-3 in nonleague play.

Drew Reynolds added a double for Springville (5-6) and both Carson Glass and Brodie Glass had one RBI.

Frewsburg (9-2) scattered three hits, while Maddox Sheesley and Gavin Weaver had an RBI and Drake Beckstrom knocked a double. Daniel Peterson surrendered five earned runs on the hill for Frewsburg and struck out five batters over those three innings.

MARAUDERS FALL

DUNKIRK — After a long week, Dunkirk suffered a 14-1 nonleague loss to St. Francis.

The Marauders recorded just one hit from Thomas Schaffer, while Noah Vazquez reached base and scored the only run for Dunkirk.

Dunkirk (12-2, 8-1) is back for its Senior Game on Wednesday against Jamestown.
