Local sports historian Greg Peterson had a conversation Tuesday with former World Series champion pitcher Bill Scherrer, middle, at the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown. Scherrer, a Tonawanda native, was a member of the 1984 Detroit Tigers, who knocked off San Diego in the Fall Classic. Among those in attendance were two other former Major Leaguers, Dunkirk native Dave Criscione, left, and Warren, Pa. native Tom Tellmann, right.
