Jamestown Ties Lancaster 13-13 In Flag

LANCASTER — Jamestown played Lancaster to a 13-13 tie in Section VI Division 1 flag football Wednesday night, but head coach Steve Propheter left Erie County quite pleased.

“We played a great game,” he said. “It came down to the last play with us trying to score for the win. We moved a lot of girls around this week because we were down one of our best players.”

Marcia McIntyre led the Red & Green offense with 81 yards rushing on 16 carries, a touchdown run and a 1-point conversion run. She also completed 11 of 22 passes for 117 yards and a TD pass to Payton Gibbs, who finished with three receptions for 51 yards.

Chryssa Wahl added 45 yards rushing on 10 carries and stood out defensively with five flag pulls for Jamestown (4-4-1, 4-2-1).

Grayson Bloomquist caught six passes for 29 yards; Kayamara Strudwick collected seven flag pulls, including one for a sack; and Gibbs broke up two passes, picked off a pass and had three flag pulls.

The sectional playoff meeting is scheduled for today. The Red & Green is tied for third, but could bump down to fourth because of point differential.

Starting at $3.50/week.
