Frewsburg Takes Down Jamestown

Sheesley Has Big Day On Mound & At Plate, Bears Win 15-1

Maddox Sheesley and Drake Beckstrom combined on a two-hitter with five strikeouts and three walks as Frewsburg beat Jamestown 15-1 in six innings of nonleague baseball action at Diethrick Park on Thursday.

Sheesley also shined at the plate for the Bears (8-1, 7-0 CCAA D2). The senior went 3 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Mason Eckman went 2 for 5 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored; Daniel Peterson was 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs; Blake Weaver was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored; and Bekckstrom doubled and scored two runs in the win.

Julian Jackson had a pair of singles for the Red & Green (1-9, 0-8 ECIC D1).

Jordan Thompson and Jackson combined for four strikeouts on the mound.

TOWNE HAS GAME-WINNING HIT

FRANKLINVILLE — Isaac Towne hit a walk-off two-run single to send Franklinville past Falconer 4-3 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 action.

The Golden Falcons (7-2, 6-2) took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning on Erik Stenstrom’s two-run home run.

In the Panthers’ seventh inning, Bretton Blecha hit an RBI single and Brady Tatlow was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded before Towne’s game-winning hit.

Blecha started for Franklinville (6-4, 6-2), allowing six hits and three runs over 5 2/3 innings, striking out nine and walking five.

Chase Bianco tossed 6 1/3 innings for Falconer, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out eight and walking two. Gavin Curtis was 3 for 4 at the plate.
