Fredonia Hands JHS First Golf Setback

DUNKIRK — Fredonia handed Jamestown its first Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association golf loss of the season Tuesday, downing the Red & Green 29.5-25.5 at Shorewood Country Club.

The Hillbillies, who also knocked off Dunkirk 40-15 and Falconer 40-15, improved to 12-1 overall and 8-1 in the division, while Jamestown dropped to 18-1, 14-1.

Leading the way for Fredonia was medalist Ryan Kelly, who fired an even-par 36, while teammate Jordan Kelly was three shots back with a 39.

For the Red & Green, Gavin Johnson also shot a 39.

In the other matches, Jamestown defeated Falconer (5-9, 4-5) 40-15 and Dunkirk (0-15, 0-9) 40-15; and the Golden Falcons downed the Marauders 35.5-19.5.

Pacing their teams were Channing Brainard of Falconer with a 48 and Landon Thomas of Dunkirk with a 59.

BUSTI — Baylor Hirliman of Maple Grove was medalist with a 5-over 41, but Southwestern won the team match 34-21 at South Hills Country Club.

Cole Lillie produced the best nine-hole score for the Trojans with a 44.

The Trojans improved to 10-4 overall and 8-4 in the division, while the Red Dragons dropped to 5-8 and 3-6.

DUNKIRK — Behind a 5-over par 41 from Nilla Ecklof, Jamestown defeated Fredonia 35.5-19.5 at Shorewood Country Club.

The win raised the Red & Green’s record to 4-2 overall and 4-2 in the league.

For the Hillbillies (0-5, 0-5), Sydnee Hoffman shot a 44.

BUSTI — Behind medalist Elise Kartesz’s 47, Southwestern downed Olean 37-18 at South Hills Country Club.

The Trojans improved to 4-0 overall and 4-0 in the division, while the Huskies fell to 0-4 and 0-4.

Olean was led by Molly Leslie with a 63.
