Fredonia Closes Out Perfect D1 Season

FREDONIA — Danielle Palisin and Anna Delcamp combined on a three-hitter as Fredonia wrapped up a perfect Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 season with a 15-3 victory over Dunkirk on Saturday.
Palisin opened with four no-hit innings during which she struck out nine and walked one. Delcamp threw the final two innings, allowing three hits and three runs (one earned) with two strikeouts and two walks for the Hillbillies (14-3, 12-0).
Palisin went 3 for 3 with four runs scored; Delcamp was 3 for 3; Jenna Fryberger was 2 for 3 with a double; Naomi Muck was 2 for 4; and Callie Draggett was 2 for 4 with a double for Fredonia, which pounded out 16 hits in the game.
Brooke Szymczak doubled while Emma Ahlstrom singled for the Marauders (3-14, 2-10).
SMITH DRIVES IN WINNING RUN
GOWANDA — Sydney Hotchkiss doubled with one out in the top of the seventh inning and Avery Smith hit an RBI single with two outs as Westfield beat nonleague Gowanda 4-3 on Saturday.
Addison Kota walked with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Panthers (9-7, 6-4 CCAA D3), but Holland Browning lined out to right field and the Wolverines (9-5, 7-3 CCAA D2) ended the game with a double play at first base.
Mackenzie Schumaker was 2 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored; Hotchkiss was 2 for 3 with a double; and Smith drove in two runs for Westfield.
Kota went 3 for 3 with a double, Browning was 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs, and Alayna Fish singled for Gowanda.
