Wolverines Fall; Randolph Stuns Wilson

ALLEGANY — After falling behind 2-0 early in the second half, No. 1 Allegany-Limestone stormed back with the final three goals of the game to beat No. 5 Westfield/Brocton 3-2 in a Section VI Class C boys soccer semifinal Wednesday night.

Tahner Stow gave the Wolverines a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute from Carson Swanson and Westfield/Brocton held that advantage through halftime.

In the 51st minute, Braylon Swanson scored from Carson Swanson to make it 2-0.

The Gators got on the board in the 52nd minute on Cooper Wilczewski’s free kick.

“It was a tough call in the middle of the field,” Westfield/Brocton head coach Neil Huber said. “It changed the entire momentum of the game.

Noah Hatch scored from Wilczewski in the 61st minute to tie the game before Luke Griffin scored the game winner from Kaleb Reed in the 69th minute.

“We had chances, but didn’t bury them,” Huber added.

Nolan Anderson made 15 saves for Westfield/Brocton and Donny Booker made three saves for Allegany-Limestone.

Carson Swanson finished his record-setting career for the Wolverines with 97 goals.

“Hats off to my seniors: Carson, Danny Bratton, Tristen Phillips, Isaac Stoughton, Mason Baum, Zach Maguire, Nate Laurito and Anthony Cruz,” Huber said.

The Gators will take on No. 4 Randolph in Monday’s 5 p.m. championship game at West Seneca West High School.

HIND PUTS HOME WINNER

WILSON — Drew Hind volleyed home a Cooper Freeman corner kick on the back post with 24 seconds remaining as No. 4 Randolph beat No. 1 Wilson 1-0 in a Section VI Class C semifinal Wednesday evening.

Battling winds up to 30 mph throughout the game, the teams played an even 79 minutes until Hind’s winner.

Delsin Tallchief made five saves in the clean sheet for the Cardinals, who will take on No. 2 Allegany-Limestone in Monday’s 5 p.m. championship game at West Seneca West High School.

Eli Moore made eight saves for the Lakemen.
