FREDONIA — Kylie Kress scored the eventual winning goal just 13 seconds into the second half as Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove beat Fredonia 2-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 girls soccer action Saturday.
Julianna Roth opened the scoring in the 30th minute to give the Herd (9-2-0, 5-1-0) a 1-0 lead.
After Kress made it 2-0 from Sydnee Snow, Cece Tonelli scored the lone goal for the Hillbillies (5-7-0, 2-4-0) in the 60th minute.
Ellyson Baglia made three saves for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove, while Naomi Muck made 12 saves for Fredonia.
FREWSBURG COASTS TO SHUTOUT
FREWSBURG — A 6-0 first half sent Frewsburg on its way to a 10-0 shutout of Westfield/Brocton in Division 3 action.
Ava Jimerson scored from Taytum Jimerson in the ninth minute, Taytum Jimerson scored from Ava Jimerson in the 13th minute, Ava Jimerson scored from Jaden Jimerson in the 15th minute, Audrey Eckwahl scored from Taytum Jimerson in the 18th minute, Ava Jimerson scored from Eckwahl in the 21st minute and Ava Jimerson scored from Taytum Jimerson in the 31st minute for the Bears (12-1-0, 7-0-0).
In the second half, Ava Jimerson scored from Brionna Dumaine in the 49th minute, Eckwahl scored from Taytum Jimerson in the 52nd minute, Ellie Seiberg scored from Ava Krofka in the 27th minute and Eckwahl scored from Taytum Jimerson in the 29th minute.
Olivia Wolfe and Colie Bundy shared 20 saves in net for the Wolverines (2-7-1, 1-6-0), while Elysse Gruber made three saves in the clean sheet for Frewsburg.
SALAMANCA BLANKS PANTHERS
FRANKLINVILLE — Avianna Stahlman scored in the 30th minute and Eloise Brown scored from Myla Galante in the 65th minute as Salamanca shut out Franklinville 2-0 in Division 2 play.
Aaliyah Winship made two saves in net for the clean sheet for the Warriors (5-6-1, 5-5-0).
Taylor Chase made seven saves for the Panthers (1-9-1, 1-8-0).
NORTH COLLINS WINS IN OT
SILVER CREEK — Jenna Sickau scored the lone goal from Breanna Kaczanowski in the fifth minute of overtime as North Collins edged Silver Creek/Forestville 1-0 in Division 3 action.
Mya Tanis made four saves in the clean sheet for the Eagles (8-3-0, 5-2-0).
The Black Knights fell to 5-5-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the league.
CARNES HAS BIG NIGHT
WEST ELLICOTT — Southwestern scored three goals in each half en route to a 6-0 Division 1 shutout of Jamestown.
Avery Johnson scored from Kaylyn Carnes in the eighth minute, Carnes scored from Emma Malmstrom-Jouannet in the 12th minute and Carnes scored from Johnson in the 31st minute for the Trojans (7-4-0, 5-2-0).
After halftime, Marlana Cresanti scored in the 50th minute, Carnes scored in the 52nd minute and Carnes scored from Cresanti in the 56th minute.
Braya Beaver made four saves in net for the clean sheet for Southwestern.
The Red & Green fell to 3-8-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the league.
