Trojans Fall To Fredonia In Division 1

FREDONIA — Londyn Wilmot had 12 kills, three aces and two blocks as Fredonia swept Southwestern 26-24, 25-16, 25-22 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 girls volleyball Tuesday.

Elizabeth Morris had seven kills, three aces and 13 digs; Maddie Saunders had four kills and 14 assists; Katherine Fortna had five kills and a block; and Kaylen Rollins had three kills and 11 digs for the Hillbillies (2-1, 1-1).

Southwestern was led by Leigha Sischo with five aces and three kills, Bella Sirianni made nine digs and eight assists, Payton Swartz had an ace and 18 digs and Reagan Stutzman scored four kills.

The Trojans fell to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the league.

FALCONER SWEEPS COUGARS

FALCONER — Emily Zaranek had 14 kills, eight digs and an ace to lead Falconer past nonleague Cassadaga Valley 25-11, 25-14, 25-10.

Hannah Melquist had 24 assists, two kills, four aces and a block; Mylie Zaranek had seven digs and four kills; Augustine Krenzer had four kills, three digs and two blocks; and Kaylee Green had five kills for the Golden Falcons (4-0, 1-0).

The Cougars fell to 0-3.

GOWANDA

DOWNS ELLICOTTVILLE

GOWANDA — Corrina John had 11 kills and nine blocks to lead Gowanda past Ellicottville in nonleague action 22-25, 25-10, 25-15, 25-15.

Addison Kota added 10 kills and eight digs, Jill Gernatt made 25 assists and three kills, Elizabeth Green scored eight kills and an ace and Holland Browning added six kills, a block and six digs for the Panthers (3-1).

Ellicottville dropped its second-straight match and now is 1-2 overall.

CARDS NAB WIN IN 5

CATTARAUGUS — After dropping the first two sets, Randolph escaped Cattaraugus-Little Valley with a Division 2 victory 14-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-17, 15-11.

The Cardinals improve to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in league, while the Timberwolves drop to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in league.

MONDAY

WOLVERINES SWEEP CLYMER

CLYMER — Maddie Burgess had 19 assists to help Westfield sweep Clymer 25-12, 25-19, 25-12 in nonleague play Monday.

Eva Gnadzinski had eight aces, eight digs and five kills; Sydney Hotchkiss had eight digs; and Mackenzie Schumaker had two aces, two digs and six kills for the Wolverines.

Ellie Bodamer led the Pirates with eight digs, two kills and two aces; Lily Johnson had seven digs and a block; and Janelle Burchanowski had five digs, eight assists and two kills.

Westfield won the jayvee match.
