Randolph Knocks Off Eagles

MAYVILLE — Donnilynn Sheldon had 25 kills to power Randolph to a 25-18, 25-21, 25-18 sweep of defending Class D state champion Chautauqua Lake in nonleague girls volleyball Tuesday evening.

Sheldon added five digs and three blocks; Skylar Herington had four kills, six digs and two blocks; Addyson Shawley had four kills, two digs and four blocks; and Aliza Hind had two aces, three kills, 31 assists and a block for the Cardinals (5-1, 2-0 CCAA D2).

Brina Jacobson had six kills, an ace, six digs and 12 assists; Makenna Smith had five kills and six digs; Alice Scarpine had a kill, two aces and 11 digs; and Jeanine Group had four kills and five digs for the Eagles (3-1, 2-0 D3).

Chautauqua Lake won the jayvee match.

ZARANEKS SHINE FOR FALCONER

FALCONER — Mylie Zaranek and Emily Zaranek both had nine kills as Falconer swept Jamestown 25-7, 25-10, 25-7 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 action.

Hannah Melquist had 26 assists, six kills, five digs and two aces; Mylie Zaranek had 10 digs and an ace; Emily Zaranek had seven digs and two aces; Nylah Sharpe had 16 digs and four aces; and Kaylee Green had six kills for the Golden Falcons (6-0, 3-0).

The Red & Green fell to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the league.

TROJANS TRIM OLEAN

WEST ELLICOTT — Siri DuBois and Juliet Genareo both had six kills as Southwestern beat Olean 25-22, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21 in Division 1 action.

Leigh Sischo had three aces and seven kills; Bella Sirianni had seven digs and 20 assists; and Payton Swartz had 27 digs and two aces for the Trojans (5-2, 3-1).

The Huskies fell to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the league.

SALAMANCA WINS FIRST

WEST VALLEY — Salamanca earned its first win of the season with a 25-22, 25-9, 25-17 sweep of West Valley/Franklinville in Division 3.

Ayla Newark had five aces, two digs, two kills and a block; Makenzie Crouse had four kills; Hadleigh Krug had five digs and two aces; and Joelle Jimerson had five assists, two digs and two aces for the Warriors (1-4, 1-3).

West Valley/Franklinville fell to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the league.
