The Maple Grove varsity boys cross country team placed first out 17 teams to win the Small School Division at the Knox Invitational on Saturday at Knox Farms in East Aurora. The Red Dragons were led by first-place Ethan Verbosky, fourth-place Jacob Lewis, 12th-place Josh Ashbaugh, 16th-place Jack Sherry and 22nd-place Ty Kraft. The varsity girls, pictured above, placed third, led by eighth-place Evalyn Fessel. Maple Grove’s jayvee boys team took the Small School JV title, led by second-place Nick Cornell, third-place Jack Quimby and eighth-place Maddox Lombardo.
